Basic Information

For Summer Staff Applicants:

The Summer Staff is made up of college-age adults who are committed to serving God by ministering to the youth of Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis, TN. Summer Staff applicants must have completed their freshman year of college (or be age equivalent) to qualify.

The position of a Summer Staffer is NOT an elevated position, but a servant position. As you prayerfully consider a ministry position at Second Presbyterian Church, understand that expectations are high. This is a job and you will be held accountable. Being on Summer Staff is a full-time commitment starting Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 2:00 pm. and ending Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 1:00pm You will receive a stipend of $3,000 for the summer, plus room and board if you are not from Memphis. Decisions on applicants are based upon this completed application (including two references). We reserve the right to terminate your position at any time for any unbiblical conduct, safety reasons, or leadership detrimental to the body of Christ. Given the nature of our relationally focused ministry, being able to drive and have access to your own vehicle is a pre-requisite.  If you are unable to drive or have access to a vehicle, you should not apply. Summer interns will be given a day-off weekly (Thursdays) along with July 3-5 to use as the only vacation time. 

We are looking for individuals who already demonstrate a lifestyle of growth and commitment as a disciple of Jesus Christ by:

For 2-Year Resident Applicants:

The Youth Ministry Resident Program is made up of college graduates who are committed to serving God by ministering to the youth of Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis, TN. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus, who took the form of a servant (Philippians 2:4-8). The position of a Resident is NOT an elevated position, but one of service. As you prayerfully consider a ministry position at Second Presbyterian Church, understand that expectations are high. This is a job and you will be held accountable. The Youth Ministry Resident Program is a full-time commitment that involves 40+ hour weeks and requires a two-year commitment. You will receive a salary of $30,000 a year plus health insurance. Decisions on applicants are based upon this completed application (including two references) and an interview with the Youth Committee of Second Presbyterian Church. We reserve the right to terminate your position at any time for any unbiblical conduct, safety reasons, or leadership detrimental to the body of Christ.
