Brand Success of the Year
The Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards recognise those businesses and individuals in Scotland who are leading the way with innovation, enterprise and quality. Entries are encouraged from small, medium and large food and drink companies. Support for the awards comes from a range of organisations and reflects the breadth of the industry. The awards are run by Scotland Food & Drink in partnership with the Royal Highland & Agricultural Society of Scotland. The title sponsor is Asda.

The Brand Success of the Year award will be presented to the company that has demonstrated the most creative and innovative approach to its product or brand development and the most effective and robust marketing campaign. This could include the development and promotion of a new product, an innovative change to an existing product or an innovative marketing campaign. The marketing award will be judged on performance over the last 12-18 months- that is a product or campaign launched since mid-2015. Please note, in the absence of business results, the judges cannot give a mark and the entry could suffer as a result.

Qualifying Businesses
The awards are open to Scottish food and drink companies whose products or offerings are wholly or mainly produced, processed and packaged in Scotland.

Businesses may be new to market or well established but ANY BUSINESS THAT WON A SPECIFIC CATEGORY IN 2016 IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO ENTER THAT SAME CATEGORY AGAIN IN 2017.

Judging Panels
The judging panel is made up of experienced figures from relevant sectors of the food and drink industry. Judges are independent of both Scotland Food & Drink and RHASS. The decisions of the judging panel will be final.

Judging Criteria
Judges are looking for informative and well planned answers. Entrants are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information they supply. Neither organisers nor judges will have capacity to carry out additional research; therefore entrants should ensure that all questions are answered.

All entries for each category will be narrowed down to a shortlist of three. This shortlist will be published at the start of April and all entrants notified as to their shortlisting or otherwise. A senior representative of each shortlisted company is expected to attend the awards ceremony and dinner at the EICC in Edinburgh on Thursday 18th May 2016. The attendance of finalists is a condition of entry. Two tickets are made available to shortlisted companies at the time finalists are notified, these are offered at the discounted finalist rate of £95 + VAT per ticket.

No publication of category winners is made prior to the ceremony. For publicity purposes it is assumed that winners agree to product and company details being forwarded to our PR team. Winners will receive a Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Award and use of the awards branding.

All entrants will receive written feedback reports which include the comments and opinions of the judges. Entrants whose products are not shortlisted will receive their feedback first, while entrants whose products are shortlisted will receive feedback after the awards ceremony.
