Grant Purpose and Proposal Evaluation

This grant is intended to assist local Jewish organizations to inspire Jewish engagement for all ages in Ottawa’s Jewish community. Organizations can apply for a grant of up to $15,000 in any of the following areas:

    • Pilots for new and creative events, programs, and initiatives
    • Scaling up successful programs/activities to increase their impact
    • Building Jewish identity through significant, sustained and meaningful Jewish experiences; appealing to those already engaged, somewhat engaged and to those not engaged.

  Goals of the Fund

  • To support initiatives in the following realms: educational, recreational, and cultural, and/or
  • To support Jewish programs/events that are designed for a more intensive engagement opportunity than a one-off program (which could be funded through micro-grants).
Measuring Success
Programs and projects funded through this grant must:
  • Minimum 15% of participants are new or relatively to your organization(s) (e.g., little or no previous involvement in the last 6 months)
  • Minimum 75% of participants have a positive experience (as reported by grantees who distribute a simple and standard Federation survey to participants)
  • Minimum 50% of participants in funded activity report that they now are more likely to participate in other Jewish community events/activities (as reported by grantees who distribute a simple and standard Federation survey to participants).

 Who is eligible to apply?

  • Ottawa Jewish organizations
  • Local partnerships between individuals and organizations

If approved, you will be required to sign a funding agreement that outlines the obligations and responsibilities related to receipt of this grant. 
 
Funds are provided in the form of expense reimbursements supported by valid recipients.  Receipts for work or products outside of the scope described in this proposal may be declined. 
 
This grant must be used within 12 months of receipt or over 3 years as detailed in the funding agreement.
