Thank you for your interest in applying for a Saint Matthew Scholarship that will be awarded for the 2018-2019 college academic year. These scholarships are intended to support current college students who will be continuing their college education in the Fall of 2018 and who has attended Saint Matthew Lutheran church and is continuing their faith journey. 

The Application Deadline is June 29th, 2018. No late applications or recommendations will be accepted. 

BOTH (2) LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATIONS MUST BE RECIEVED BY THIS DATE.

Please complete the following application along with two letters of recommendation as described on the application.  The application is to be submitted online while the two letters of recommendation are to be submitted via email to scholarships@saintmatthew.org. NO LATE RECOMMENDATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED

Scholarship recipients will be notified prior to the presentation during Worship in July.  A check will be sent directly to the institution designated on your Scholarship Application Form, and the funds will be distributed in accordance with that institution’s policies.

Tell us about you - your story

We may decide to publish information about our Scholarship recipients. Please write a short story about yourself, one that you would be willing to see published, including the following content - 500 word maximum

  • Start with the name by which you are best known (vs. your formal name).
  • Describe yourself at this point in your life: the attributes that you possess, the hobbies that you enjoy, and your interests outside of school and church.
  • Why are you interestd in this scholarship; for example: highlight the course of study that you plan to pursue or your chosen major; summarize your dream career.

Note: Scholarship recipients will be asked to provide a current portrait-type photo.

Letters of Recommendation

Along with this application, please submit two Letters of Recommendation, one from each of the following categories -  300 word maximum per letter

  • A member of the staff or adult mentor/leader with whom you have served at Saint Matthew or in your current church home.
  • A teacher, counselor, employer or family friend (not your parent or other family member)

Letters of Recommendation should be emailed to scholarships@saintmatthew.org no later than June 29th, 2018.

Remember, you must submit your online application and letter of recommendation by June 29th.
