Deep Dive (December Start Date): Six 90-Minute Sessions of Civic dialogue centered around respectful disagreement, collaboration, and healing. “Top Threats to Our Democracy – College Student Edition.” The topics to be discussed during these sessions include free market capitalism + politics polarity + Racism + undermined basic facts + representation of POC in politics
College Bowl: Guided Survey w/Unify America Two college students—total strangers from different schools with different political leanings or backgrounds—were matched into a one-on-one guided video conversation to talk about big goals for our country. Yikes. Sound like trouble—or at least really awkward conversations? That’s what the students thought, too. But to their big surprise, the student pairs found more agreement than they expected as the partners walked through 17 different goals for America across with topics ranging from free speech and criminal justice to immigration and education.
Dinner and a Fight: (April 12, 2023 / 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm in the SAC) At the forum we'll "break bread" over dinner and then utilize the 5-Chair Civil Dialogue Method from Arizona State University to tackle a hot topic that encourages different points-of-view. At the forum you can volunteer to be a participant - or join us just to observe!
