The Jacket LINK Program Application for 2024 - 2025

Dear BW Yellow Jacket,

We are glad you have chosen to attend Baldwin Wallace University! You will surely experience great intellectual and personal development while pursuing your undergraduate degree.

BW offers many opportunities for academic enrichment and personal growth. One of the many programs created for your academic excellence as a first-year student is the Jacket LINK (JL) Program.

JL is a year-long mentoring program that begins with a 3-day programming intensive from August 19-21, continues throughout the academic year, and ends at the close of the spring 2025 semester. JL will challenge you, and participating in it will give you more confidence, provide knowledge about the campus, and help you feel at home at BW. Below, you will find a few more reasons why participating in the program can be rewarding.

BY PARTICIPATING IN JACKET LINK DURING THE SUMMER AND BEYOND, STUDENTS WILL:

L- Leadership

Receive textbook vouchers to be used toward the cost of textbooks or school supplies purchased in the BW Bookstore
Receive assistance in the preparation and procedures for applying for BW campus student employment

I-Inclusion

From September – May, JL participants will engage in social/cultural events on and off campus
Each JL participant is partnered with a current BW student to serve as a peer mentor during the academic year
Make social connections with diverse groups of students who share a common focus

N- Networking

Meet faculty, staff, and peer mentors before classes begin
Develop a sense of community and belonging early
Have a shared learning experience inside and outside of the classroom.

K-Knowledge

Move-in/commute early and get acquainted with the campus (Monday, August 19, before the Week of Welcome)
Gain an edge over other incoming freshman with early access and exposure to campus life and resources
Receive individualized academic support throughout the first year
