All requests for field trips will be made, in writing, to the school’s principal on the application below at least 2 weeks in advance of the trip. All appropriate provisions for insurance, chaperones, and parental permission must be attached to this form. The only field trips that require superintendent approval are trips that are overnight. All field trips that require international travel will require the approval of the School Committee. All field trips requiring School Committee approval must be brought before the Committee for approval before arrangements are announced. All field trips must be signed off by the School Nurse before being submitted to the Principal for approval.

Alternative Program Details: Parents have the option of not allowing their child to participate in the field trip. It is the responsibility of the school sponsoring the trip to provide for an alternative program for all children not participating in the field trip. To ensure curriculum and instruction equity among all students, those unable to attend educational field trips must be offered an alternative program which provides, to the degree possible, similar educational opportunity and curriculum exposure.
