Oregon's outdoor community is stronger when it reflects the diversity of people and perspectives found in Oregon, and we realize the financial cost of attending the Oregon Outdoor Recreation Summit can be prohibitive. For individuals seeking financial assistance to attend the summit, we are offering partial and full registration scholarships as well as limited lodging scholarships to help make the summit accessible to all Oregonians aiming to advance outdoor recreation in Oregon.

Registration scholarships will be equal to either the "full conference registration" ($150-$175 value) or a half registration ($75-$87.50 value).

  • INCLUDED: All conference meals, sessions, breaks, and reception as scheduled.
  • NOT INCLUDED: Hotel room, mileage or activity costs.

Conference hotel room rates are $132.42 / night after taxes and fees. Travel Oregon and conference partners are offering limited scholarships for half the value of one room night ($66.21 value) at the conference hotel or a nearby hotel. Scholarship recipients will be required book their own room using a personal credit card and will be responsible for their half of the room night plus any incidental expenses upon check out.

All scholarship recipients are invited to volunteer to help with summit set up and on-site logistics in addition to participating in scheduled conference sessions and events. No recipient will receive monetary remuneration as part of the scholarship.

All scholarship applications are reviewed and awarded based on demonstrated financial need and the applicant’s commitment to or development of outdoor recreation and the related industry in Oregon. We are seeking people of diverse backgrounds and representing social equity organizations, students, entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations with limited funding, and others looking to diversify and make access to outdoor recreation in Oregon open and available to all.

The first round of scholarships will be awarded on March 22, with rolling reviews and distribution occuring on a weekly basis until all available funds have been distributed.

If you do not receive a scholarship and applied by March 21, you will still be able to register by the early bird deadline of March 29, 2019.
