Your study history in the UK

If you are unable to submit copies of your certificates and/or transcripts via this form, email your copies to international-admissions@plymouth.ac.uk or doctoral.college@plymouth.ac.uk quoting your student reference number.
If you currently hold a visa to study at a different UK college/university, you will need to use your CAS issued by the University of Plymouth to make a new Tier 4 visa extension application before you can begin your studies at the University of Plymouth. If you are unable to make a successful visa application (for example you are not able to meet the financial requirements) then you will not be able to attend your classes here. Please also note that if you have completed a previous course in the UK and held a Tier 4 visa for that course, you will not be able to enrol or begin studies on your new programme until you have submitted a new Tier 4 application, even if your existing visa has time remaining on it. Your statement of intent

Your Tier 4 responsibilities

It is hereby agreed that while studying at the University of Plymouth or the University of Plymouth International College (UPIC) I will abide by the terms of my Tier 4 or
other type of visa and the regulations of UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI).

In particular:

• I will inform the University of Plymouth (UoP) promptly of any visa refusal that applies to this CAS and supply all the documents relating to my refusal to the UKVI Compliance team. If I intend to submit an application for administrative review I will also supply the University with these details and documentation promptly. Failure to do so, or to inform the University that I have received a visa refusal, may mean that the University (including UPIC) will not issue me a further CAS in future.

• On arrival at the University of Plymouth I will take my passport and visa to the International Student Advice office to be scanned before I start my classes

• I confirm that I am able and intend to follow my programme of study and am committed to this aim

• I will endeavour to academically progress through my programme of study in a timely manner

• I will comply with any request to attend checks-ins with my university ID card as required at International Student Advice

• I will attend all my taught sessions and submit all required coursework (or maintain regular contact with my supervisor (for PGR Students)) and engage fully with my studies, and make any requests for absence in advance if possible (or will notify UoP/UPIC, faculty office and ISA as soon as possible of any absences)

• I will not withdraw from, suspend or defer my course unless I intend to return home or make a visa application for a new institution
I agree to the above *
If the University of Plymouth and/or University of Plymouth International College have informed me that they have stopped sponsoring me under Tier 4, for any reason (my own decision to withdraw or suspend studies, an academic or compliance related decision or as per the Fit to Study Policy) I will follow the instructions given by the International Student Advice team and UKVI Compliance Team, regarding my immigration status and departure from the UK. Failure to do this may mean the University will not be prepared to sponsor me under Tier 4 in the future.  I will also supply details of my travel plans to leave the UK i.e. copy of flight ticket, when requested.
I agree to the above *
It is hereby agreed that while studying at the University of Plymouth or University of Plymouth International College (UPIC) I will abide by the terms of my Tier 4 or
other type of visa and the regulations of UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI).

In particular:

• I will inform the UKVI of any change to my personal details and contact details, criminal convictions and changes to my dependant details

• I will only work according to the conditions associated with my visa

• I understand that I cannot be self-employed or engage in business activity, take a full time permanent position, be employed as a doctor in training (except on a recognised foundation programme), be employed as a professional sportsperson or sports coach, or be employed as an entertainer.

• I will pay my University of Plymouth/UPIC tuition fees in a timely manner

• I will keep my address, phone numbers and email address updated via the student portal regularly and within 10 days of my enrolment, and will check my student email account regularly

• I will abide by the current laws of the UK

• I will not remain in the UK after the expiry of my visa or if I cease studying at the University of Plymouth/UPIC, unless I am granted an alternative leave to remain by the UKVI, or I have another reason to remain in the UK which my visa allows

• I will register with the UK Police if it is a requirement of my visa

• I will keep the University of Plymouth/UPIC informed of any changes to my immigration status and will present new immigration documents or communications from the Home Office for scanning, as soon as possible after receipt

• I will tell the compliance team about any change to my study location via the Absence and Mobility form
www.plymouth.ac.uk/international/compliance/current-student

• I understand that the Home Office has a time limit on how long I can study in the UK

• I understand that any false declaration made on this form or failure to comply with the conditions may result in my visa and enrolment being cancelled

• I understand that I, not my agent, must complete this form personally. I understand that if my agent does complete this form my CAS may be withdrawn and further action may be taken by the University of Plymouth with regards to my agent

I agree to the above *
If we are sponsoring you under Tier 4 we expect you to be engaging fully with your studies. Your acceptance of a CAS signifies your agreement to do the following:
  • If you are on an undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme, including where repeating, you should be attending all timetabled sessions and meeting with your dissertation supervisor monthly during the dissertation period. You should expect to have regular engagement points.
  • If you are a postgraduate research student you should be completing your interactions on GradBook monthly and engaging regularly with your supervisory team, including during periods of mobility.
  • The Tier 4 route is not for distance learning therefore if it becomes clear that you are based away from the UK or the University without authorisation, or for unacceptably long periods of time where mobility has been authorised (PGR only), we may stop sponsoring you under Tier 4.
  • We may also stop sponsoring you if you fail to engage with your studies fully, so please ensure you are clear about timetabled and other course commitments. If you are unsure, please speak to your Faculty as soon as possible.

Once I have received my Tier 4 Visa I confirm that I will meet the responsibilities outlined above
I agree to the above *
