Environmental Science alumni share their industry knowledge with current students
Get involved

Thank you for your interest in supporting University of Plymouth students.

Please complete this form to let us know how your knowledge and expertise can support those following in your footsteps.

How you can get involved

1.   Share a job opportunity, or offer work experience

Could you provide work experience to  a current student or recent graduate? Anything from a few weeks of work experience to a placement year or internship could provide invaluable support in achieving a successful career path. Our Careers & Employability Service would be delighted to hear from you. They can also let you know how  easy it is to advertise a placement or internship and even graduate job opportunities to our talented students at no charge!

2.    Speak to current students

Do you have career insights and experiences that you have gained since graduating that our current students would benefit from hearing?  Why not share your these  with our current students by attending a careers networking event or offering your services as a guest speaker?

We run a number of events throughout the year – from broad employability workshops and careers fairs to sector-specific talks. If you would like to get involved then we will let you know when events which match your expertise are coming up!

3.   Mentor a student

Could your experiences help to raise the career aspirations and achievement of a Plymouth student? The Professional Mentoring programme offers students the opportunity to meet with an experienced professional, relevant to their career aspirations, who will mentor them over a six month period.

If you are interested in acting as a positive role model, then we would love to hear from you. Professional mentoring is a rewarding experience which helps our mentees and mentors build a range of skills. In addition to helping a student to gain an insight into your career area, you will have the opportunity to develop your coaching skills, and develop undergraduates’ interest in your sector and your business.

4.   Share your expertise online

Do you want to share your career expertise and knowledge but are not able to come to Plymouth? Why not become an online Career Champion? Plymouth Connect is a great way to support current students online and to give something back wherever you are in the world. Register now at Plymouth Connect
