This form is used to register EACH Group Leader Volunteer
Kiwanis and SCCOE (Santa Clara Office of Education) are pleased to announce, each Classroom will be assigned to individual Groups.
Each Classroom will compete together throughout Special Games as a Group. The assigned First Event is printed on the Athlete's Name Tag. At the direction of the Classroom Teacher (or designated Adult), the Group may then proceed to compete in that first event (or not) and then decide to continue in whatever sequence of Events. We encourage Groups to participate in as many Events, including repeating Events, as time allows before the final bell signaling Lunch Time.
We are interested in adding Kiwanis members, Community Members, Parents, School and Classroom Personnel as volunteers to serve as Group Leader. Basic duties:
- Check in at Volunteer Registration after 8 am. You will be assigned to a Classroom Group and given a Group Leader Packet.
- Group Leader Orientation is offered at 8:30 am behind the 25 Yard Dash Event.
- During the Parade, we encourage you to line the inside of the track to cheer on the Athletes.
- After the Opening Ceremonies, Special Games will be declared open. You will meet your Classroom Group at their assigned FIRST EVENT. Your Group Leader Packet will identify the Group ID, the First Event, and the Classroom Teacher.
- At the First Event, collect the Group Sign. Hold it high so the Classroom can find you. Check in with the Classroom Teacher, take roll, presenting each Athlete with a Participation Ribbon (purple, in your Group Leader PacketO.
- Then the fun begins! Help the Classroom Teacher and other supporting adults to navigate the Events for the duration of the Games. When the Group is done for the day, return the Group Sign and completed Roll Sheet to Volunteer Registration.
