The Kansas Food Safety Task Force was developed for food and feed safety and defense professionals to achieve prevention, intervention and response, including the early detection and containment of foodborne illness.
Regional meetings will be held throughout the year to foster dialogue between key stakeholders to identify food and feed safety risks, communicate concerns, and learn new ideas to improve food and feed safety fields in the state of Kansas.
This will be our fifth regional meeting since the Task Force was developed last year. We are very pleased with the high participation and great discussions that have been generated at these meetings.
The next Food Safety Task Force meeting will be held at the Salina Public Library in Salina, Kansas, with additional meetings coming soon.
Scheduled topics for the meeting include Kansas Food Safety Task Force overview; Feed (Animal Food); Food Safety Inspection Program; U.S. Food and Drug Administration Food Safety Modernization Act Produce Safety Rule; small group discussion; intentional contamination; recalls; and an overview of Kansas Food Safety Task Force resources. Full agenda to follow.
