Three Years After the Bangladesh Bank Cyber Attack – Are we Actually Any Safer?
In February 2016, Bangladesh Bank famously became the victim of a cyberattack targeting the bank’s infrastructure connected to the SWIFT network. But since then are things getting better or worse?
Learn about the cyberattacks on SWIFT customers and the modus operandi used in fraudulent cross-border high value transactions, including the profile and evolution of the victims, end beneficiaries, currencies, message types and amounts. Learn how SWIFT’s Customer Security Programme (CSP) supports the global financial services ecosystem by helping customers (both big and small) reinforce the security of their SWIFT-related infrastructure. Whilst considerable progress has been made, much work remains and this session concludes with the CSP future roadmap to make things safer.
