Amazement Square is excited to offer a limited number of scholarship opportunities for
WonderCamp sessions. These scholarships are primarily need‐based, but we encourage a
demonstration of your child’s interest in Wondercamp such as a drawing, video, or poem, to be
included with the application.
 
Please submit application at least 5 days before desired WonderCamp’s start date. Limited scholarships available. WonderCamp scholarship applications are accepted throughout the spring and summer.

Camp Information

Amazement Square offers the following levels and themes for 2025 Summer WonderCamp:

Junior (1/2 Day - Ages 3-5 who have not entered kindergarten)

  • Mess Fest (June 2nd-6th) – Get ready to get messy! Create and explore with ooey, gooey science experiments and make art projects where getting messy is part of the fun!
  • Dinosaur, Roar! (June 16th-20th) – Become a paleontologist and explore the world of dinosaurs. Dig for fossils and create a dinosaur habitat. What will you uncover?
  • Mighty Machines (July 7th-11th) – From trains and cars to rockets and bulldozers! Explore how machines work and keep us moving.
  • Space Academy (July 21st-25th) – Calling all future astronauts! Embark on a mission to space as you train like an astronaut and explore the night sky. Discover how astronauts live and work on the ISS and take a trip to the planets in Amazement Square’s planetarium!

Explorer (Full day - Completed K-2nd grade)

  • LEGO Builders (June 2nd-6th; August 4th-8th) – Do you love LEGOs? Join us for different building and engineering LEGO challenges including stop motion animation and LEGO robotics! This camp theme is being offered twice to accommodate multiple school calendars.
  • Solid, Liquid, SLIME! (June 9th-13th) – Is slime a solid or a liquid? Explore the states of matter through experiments and demonstrations as you make lots of icky, sticky slime!
  • Invention Convention (June 16th-20th) – What can you make with cardboard, tape, and loose parts? Use your inventors mind to design and build with different invention challenges each day. Build with recycled materials, create moving parts with circuits, and make your project come to life with Makey Makey!
  • Mad Scientist (June 23rd-27th) – Lab coats on! Step into the lab and think like a scientist through thought-provoking experiments and demonstrations. Make your hypothesis and see what happens!
  • Robot Coders (July 7th-11th) – What makes something a robot? Discover how robots work through circuits and engineering and practice coding robots to move and perform tasks.
  • 3rd Rock from the Sun (July 14th-18th) – Dive under the Earth’s crust and discover all that makes our Earth special from rocks and volcanos to plants, animals, and ecosystems.
  • Big Messy Art (July 21st-25th) – Unleash your creativity in a BIG way! Create your own artwork and masterpieces in this colorful camp where you are sure to get messy.
  • Space Explorers (July 28th – August 1st) – Blast off and explore the solar system in Amazement Square’s planetarium! Discover Project Gateway as you design a research station on the Moon and create your own colony on Mars.

Adventurer (Full Day - Completed 3rd-5th grade)

  • Digital Designers (June 23rd-27th) – Create your own digital designs as we explore different software. Make logos in Canva and bring them to life using a Cricut, design your own digital LEGO build with BrickLink Studio complete with step-by step instructions to recreate, and create 3D designs in TinkerCad to print on a 3D printer.
  • Adventurers in Coding (July 28th – August 1st) – Explore the world of coding! Discover how videos games are coded in Scratch, create your own coded machines with Circuit Playground Express, and code LEGO robots to perform tasks and respond to their environment.

Discovery (1/2 Day Neurodiversity Affirming - Completed 4th-5th grade)

  • STEAM Makers (June 9th-13th) - Join us for tinkering, building and creation where out of the box thinking is required! Each day focuses on a different part of STEAM with Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math!
  • Stop Motion Animation (July 14th-18th) - Create your own stop motion animation films in this camp dedicated to film and design! Explore set design, construct your characters, and experiment with sound effects to create a one-of-a-kind production.

Theater (Full Day - Completed 6th-8th grade)

  • Creating Drama (July 21st-25th) – Daily theater classes for middle schoolers, including technical theater and costume/makeup instruction. The group will create a script together, then rehearse and perform it for an audience at Commerce Street Theater!
List, in order of preference, the camp(s) your child is most interested in attending. You may list camp themes or dates. 

Scholarship Information

We strongly encourage you to include an expression of your child’s eagerness to attend their
preferred WonderCamp. This can be a drawing, song, poem, video, or anything else you can
dream up! This media will only be seen by the scholarship board and will not be released.

Terms and Conditions

Scholarship Application Terms and Conditions
A. Due to a limited amount of space available, filling out a scholarship application does not
guarantee your child a camp spot. Nor does it guarantee a spot in child’s preferred camp.
B. Completed application must be received 5 days before desired WonderCamp’s start date
C. Application and application material will only be seen and reviewed by the scholarship board.
None of the contained material will be released.
D. This is an equal opportunity scholarship. Amazement Square does not discriminate on the basis
of race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, gender, religion or disability.
E. This chosen recipient of the scholarship will not be revealed at any time to any of the other
camp participants.
